How often do you need to replace an outdoor doormat

My name is Linnea Malkovich, and I am a doormat enthusiast. It seems like every year, my doormat needs to be replaced. I have never been able to figure out why this is, but I guess the weather is always changing and the ground always seems to be damp. Regardless, I always seem to need a new doormat.
